apple cider slushies, funnel cakes, roasted corn on the cob and hayrides to the witches house (not scary, just fun :). fall is finally here!!! this year has FLOWN by and OCTOBER has now come and, basically, gone. this past weekend we spent a little time with friends that have become family. i almost missed it... the chance to spend time laughing and making memories with people that we love. because, work tasks and home task can occupy your head space. but, don't let it...Read More
i don't go out on sunday's. after church, we head off to pick up a few groceries and then head home to prepare dinner and spend the rest of the day getting ready for the week. at the most, we grab the kids pjs and head out to the grandparents house for dinner. this normally gives them a little time with their grands, we get a few moments to catch up and then back home, already in our pjs by now, to tuck everyone into their beds for the night. we don't go out on sundays.
but, this particular sunday was a tiny bit different. i, reluctantly, said yes to our dear friends to help them celebrate a birthday and, although extremely tired, i wouldn't have had it any other way.
we headed off to the city to walk, talk, grab some hot chocolate, apple cider and a candy apple in my case. then we found ourselves at an ice skating rink in the city's center square. my very first time... ice skating... with one of my favorite of friends.
and, of course i bought my camera along! i, now, wish i had chosen to bring my big camera along. somehow, i always regret not bringing that camera of mine. i could have gotten some pretty incredible shots of the buildings, the rink, etc. oh well. for sure, next time.
basically, i went out on a sunday. and, I'm so glad i did! happy birthday my beautiful friend. i love you two tons and 3 bunches girl!

ok, so it wasn't really a "late" night but kinda. normally, my babies are fed, showered and winding down by 7:00pm.... tucked in by 7:30pm and sleep by 8ish. so packing them up and taking them to a game after 7 was both a treat and a sacrifice. and im finding that sacrifice is where you find out what living is all about.
hot dogs, popcorn and water ice kept them happy while we hung out and laughed a bit with friends. and we even took a ride on the carousel that was wayyy too fast but definitely worth my one dollar bill. it was fun.

its been a bit more silent here than i would like it. i guess you could say that we are doing a lot of soaking up the sun. pool time and road trips, bbqs and birthday bashes. and not to mention all the homeschool planning. its proving to be a pretty fun/busy/tiring/but fun summer so far and i really don't want it to end.
ill be trying to pack in a few more trips to the beach, the zoo, the amusement parks and a good ole seafood night. have so much to do in so little time. seriously, where has the summer gone?!??

It was 9:00am and I was slightly on pins and needles. They were scheduled to arrive at 11 and my lady baby refused to let me put her down. I needed to start making waffles, crafting last minute glittery confetti and I inched over to the window to find pretty powdery snowflakes approaching the dark pavement at a very fast pace. The snow was steady falling and I was in the kitchen juggling the preparation of breakfast meats and waffle toppings while BH cleaned the bathroom and cleared the driveway for my pretty girls arrivals. I double checked all the details. I walked to the front door, and turned 180 degrees to get a picture of what they would see as they entered my living room. I was satisfied.
I am beyond excited to be able to write up this post. One of the things I have on my list of 31 things to a 31 year old me was…..
#18. In my mind I find any reason to celebrate with cake and party favors. From major holidays and birthday weeks to tv show premiers, award shows. I am about that life. Problem is, I can be anti social, I'm always "too tired" or want things "too perfect" and let my celebration ideas slip away. I plan to change that.
and twoSaturdays ago, I did just that. I found a reason, and I celebrated. I hosted a vision board party for four amazing lady friends of mine. We laughed. I may or may not have cried. And we shared little bits of our vision for 2014.
One of the things that I loved the most about planning this little party was how much I allowed the pressure to be off. Instead of feeling the need to create every little thing myself, I chose to let all the talented people that I come across browsing pretty blogs, websites and countless Pinterest boards, help me along the way. This is, also, another check on my 31 things list...
#9. I do not believe in reinventing the wheel. I just wanna love life rolling with it. I plan on filling my life with stuff I love from the inspiration of this wonderful world of web. And I plan on linking back heavily and shouting out whatever source I may have gathered the inspiration from.
By golly, I think I am on a roll this fine January of 2014!!! And, oh what a pretty, big, little impact a few awesome printables and a lotta extra silver glitter can have on a party planned in less than 5 short days. SO, BOOM!!!
