{CREATING ID BADGES FOR OUR HOMESCHOOL // THE WHY & HOW...}

i finally did it! creating id badges for the kids has been something i’ve wanted to do for such a long time. I made an early version when they were little, but more of a passport to learning with a mission statement they could read and remember on the back of the card.

this time around I wanted something a bit more personal. something unique and interactive. something that could be coupled with challenges and missions along the way. I wanted something that held our branding and made for a tangible point of contact for reminding themselves of who they are.

our fallcofamily id badges do just that and i’m excited to bear witness as it helps to create an indelible mark on their hearts and minds of who, in this world, they are!

my how // I used photoshop to create my design. although you could use any design program to create your ID card. I wanted to keep the actual card quite simple. I included thier name, photo and a few important branding design elements on the front. the barcode is a design I created for our brand that reminds them of their worth #priceless (john 3:16) and, the sparrow in the corner is a branding illustration by our favorite vanessa brantley-newton that prompts them to consider the sparrows in (matthew 6:26). links to our website, email & instagram on the back along with a thier individual QR codes that link to their resume on our little internet home.

I purchased business card stock pack that came with a template to place your designs and printed them front and back. after they where printed, I laminated them and found these cute navy blue lanyards with mini sanitizers that were a perfect fit. I printed two copies so they could keep one on their lanyards and another inside of thier wallets bc… extra, lol.

my why // a simple message to my babies- i gave up pieces of my identity so that I could focus on establishing yours. making sure that you know who you are and what your purpose is apart from the skills you will develop, the achievements you will acquire and the labels people will no doubt attempt to attach to your name. but, YOU all by yourself are WORTHY. you are enough apart from the gifts you’ve been given. you are worthy because of who you are and not what you can do!

i’m so happy with how they turned out! and, I am looking forward to watching them introduce themselves, share their thoughts and ideas, their work, their writings… all the things they will create along the way.

with all the love,
